Below you’ll find answers to common questions about MANGA MIRAI shutting down, transferring your data to MangaPlaza, and your privacy choices. All dates and times in this FAQ are U.S. Pacific Time. All dates and times are subject to change.
MANGA MIRAI will shut down completely on December 15, 2026 (PT).
Yes. After August 19, 2026, you can still view your purchased comics through My Library on the website until December 15, 2026. However, the MANGA MIRAI app will no longer work for viewing comics after August 19, 2026.
After August 19, 2026, you'll still be able to access My Library (to view purchased comics) and My Account (to check your account information and complete transfer steps). Most other features on the website will no longer be available. You will not be able to register for a new account or make new purchases.
Unless you opt-out of the transfer or are under the age of 18, we will transfer your email address, user ID and purchase history to MangaPlaza. For more information, please click here.
Before September 30, 2026 (PT) you must create a MangaPlaza account with the same email address associated with your MANGA MIRAI account to ensure access to your purchased comics beginning on December 15, 2026 (PT). In addition, you must keep the email addresses registered with MANGA MIRAI and MangaPlaza the same until October 31, 2026(PT). To create a MangaPlaza account, please click here. If you already have a MangaPlaza account: Make sure your MangaPlaza email address matches your MANGA MIRAI email address. If they're different, update your MANGA MIRAI email in your account settings to match your email with MangaPlaza.
Go to MANGA MIRAI Account Settings. For customers signed in with a Google account Go to Member Information → Select Edit under Password → Enter the email address associated with your Google account and select Send → Once your password has been set, return to Member Information → Select Edit under Email Address → Enter the email address you would like to use and the password you just created, then select Send → Follow the instructions in the email to complete registration. For customers signed in with an Apple account Please complete Step 1 before proceeding to Step 2. 1. Set a password for your account: Go to Member Information → Copy or make a note of the email address displayed under Email (If you use Apple's "Hide My Email" feature, make a note of the anonymized email address shown there) → Select Edit under Password → Enter the copied/noted email address and select Send → Follow the link in the email to set a new password. 2. Change your email address: Return to Member Information → Select Edit under Email Address → Enter your new email address and the password you just set in Step 1, then select Send → Follow the instructions in the email to complete registration. For customers who created an account using an email address and password Go to Member Information → Select Edit under Email Address → Enter the email address you would like to use and your registered password, then select Send → Follow the instructions in the email to complete registration.
To successfully transfer your eligible paid comics, your registered email address on MANGA MIRAI must match the exact email address used for your MangaPlaza account. If your MANGA MIRAI email is an anonymized address ending with @privaterelay.appleid.com, you MUST update it to match the actual email address linked to your MangaPlaza account (not a private relay address) by following these steps: Step 1: Set a password for your MANGA MIRAI account (If not set yet) 1. Go to Member Information. 2. Select Edit next to Password. 3. Enter your current registered email address (your anonymized Apple address ending with @privaterelay.appleid.com) and select Send. 4. Follow the instructions in the email you receive to set up a password. Step 2: Change your email address 1. Return to Member Information and select Edit next to Email Address. 2. Enter the actual email address linked to your MangaPlaza account (not a private relay address) along with the password you set in Step 1. 3. Select Send and follow the confirmation email instructions to complete the update. ※ Changing your registered email address will NOT delete your purchase history or account data on MANGA MIRAI.
MangaPlaza does not allow users under 18. If you're under 18 as of September 30, 2026 (PT), your data will not be transferred to MangaPlaza and you will lose access to your purchased comics on December 15, 2026.
Eligible purchased comics will be available for eligible customers on MangaPlaza beginning on or around December 15, 2026.
We will post a list of comics that will not be available on MangaPlaza on the NEWS page of the MANGA MIRAI website around mid-October.
If you do not see your eligible purchased comics on your MangaPlaza account after December 15, 2026, please contact our Contact Desk.
We will notify you at the email address associated with your MANGA MIRAI account if you are eligible for a refund, including the amount of the refund and the process to claim your refund.
We expect to begin processing refunds beginning in early November 2026.

Customers who are under the age of 18 as of September 30, 2026 (PT) are not eligible for migration under MangaPlaza's Terms of Service. Therefore, compensation details will be provided separately by email.
Yes. You can choose not to have your user information transferred to MangaPlaza by completing the opt-out process here. You can change your choice by contacting our Customer Support team prior to September 30, 2026 (PT).
If you opt out, your user information will not be transferred to MangaPlaza and you will lose access to your purchased comics on December 15, 2026.
