Thank you very much for using MANGA MIRAI. MANGA MIRAI will shut down on December 15, 2026(PT). Your User Information (as defined below) will be transferred to MangaPlaza, a service from NTT Solmare Corporation, a sister company in the NTT Group.
We know this change may be inconvenient, and we will work to make your move to MangaPlaza as smooth as possible.
Please read this notice carefully. It contains important information about the change and what it means to you, including steps you must take to continue to access your purchased comics.
All dates and times in this notice are U.S. Pacific Time. All dates and times are subject to change. If any change results in a material impact to you, we will notify you at the email address associated with your account.

What Is Being Transferred
In connection with the shutdown of MANGA MIRAI, MANGA MIRAI will transfer each user's user information, which includes the email address and comic purchase history associated with the account ("User Information") to MangaPlaza. MANGA MIRAI will not transfer User Information associated with users that are under the age of 18 as of September 30, 2026(PT) or users that have opted-out of the transfer.
Changes to Privacy Practices
Once your User Information is linked to a MangaPlaza account, your information will be subject to the MangaPlaza privacy policy. Here are the main differences between the two privacy policies:
- Operating entity:

→ NTT Solmare Corporation - Governing law:
MANGA MIRAI and its privacy policy are operated primarily under U.S. law
→ MangaPlaza is operated in Japan, and its privacy policy is also based on Japanese law (in principle, Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information). (With respect to the handling of personal information, MangaPlaza also complies with the CCPA.)Other laws applicable to MangaPlaza will continue to apply. - Advertising identifiers:
MANGA MIRAI uses advertising and marketing partners and cookie-based services
→ MangaPlaza expressly collects advertising identifiers such as Facebook ad ID, Google ad ID, and Google Analytics ID and uses them for personalized advertising. - Age restriction:
MANGA MIRAI is for users aged 16 and over
→ MangaPlaza is for users aged 18 and over.
Action Required: Keep Access to Your Purchased Comics
IMPORTANT: YOU MUST TAKE ACTION BY SEPTEMBER 30, 2026(PT), TO KEEP ACCESS TO YOUR PURCHASED COMICS.
To ensure that comics you purchased on MANGA MIRAI will be available on MangaPlaza beginning on December 15, 2026(PT), when MANGA MIRAI shuts down, you need to create a MangaPlaza account by September 30, 2026(PT). The email address on your MangaPlaza account must be the same as the email address on your MANGA MIRAI account on September 30, 2026(PT). In addition, you must keep the email addresses registered with MANGA MIRAI and MangaPlaza the same until October 31, 2026(PT). You can create a MangaPlaza account here.
Customers who complete the migration to MangaPlaza may be eligible for welcome benefits, including discount offers. Details will be provided separately.
* To change the email address associated with your MANGA MIRAI account, please visit My Account.
* MangaPlaza requires users to be 18 or older. Therefore, no action is required from users under 18.
Comic Availability on MangaPlaza
While your purchase history on MANGA MIRAI will be transferred to MangaPlaza, MangaPlaza may not have the necessary license rights to continue to make certain comics available to you. If a purchased comic is not available on MangaPlaza, you may be eligible for a refund. See Refunds below.
Comics that will not be available on MangaPlaza are scheduled to be announced on the "News" page of this MANGA MIRAI around mid-October 2026, so please check that page.
How to Opt Out of the Transfer of Your User Information
You can choose not to transfer your User Information to MangaPlaza. To opt out, you must complete the opt-out process before September 30, 2026(PT). If you opt out, your MANGA MIRAI User Information will not be transferred to MangaPlaza and you will lose the ability to access and view your purchased comics as of December 15, 2026(PT).

Refunds
We understand that the shutdown of MANGA MIRAI may impact your ability to view purchased comics. Depending on your situation, you may be eligible for a refund. We will begin contacting users who are eligible for a refund, including the amount and method, at the email address associated with each user's account beginning in early November 2026. Users that may be eligible for refunds include:
- Users with comics not available on MangaPlaza:
If you purchased a comic that is not available on MangaPlaza, you may be eligible for a full or partial refund. - Users under 18:
MangaPlaza requires users to be 18 or older. If you are under 18 as of September 30, 2026(PT), you cannot transfer your account to MangaPlaza, but you may be eligible for a refund for purchased comics. - Users who opt out:
If you complete the opt-out process, you may also be eligible for a refund.

Access using your registered account.
View comics saved in My Library until December 15, 2026 (PT).
Confirm and configure user information.
Confirm the latest information regarding account migration and complete any required procedures.
Schedule for Shut Down of MANGA MIRAI
- August 19, 2026 at 7:00 PM(PT)
Starting this date:
- You will no longer be able to create a new MANGA MIRAI account or purchase comics
- The MANGA MIRAI app will no longer be available for download or for viewing purchased comics
- Most MANGA MIRAI website pages will become unavailable, except for this notice, My Library (where you can still view purchased comics), and My Account
- The opt-out period begins—you can submit an opt-out request starting this date
- September 30, 2026(PT)
This is the last day to:
- Submit an opt-out request if you don't want your information transferred to MangaPlaza
- Create a MangaPlaza account with your MANGA MIRAI email address to keep access to your purchased comics
- Early November – December 2026(PT)
- If you are eligible for a refund, we will contact you by email with instructions.
- December 15, 2026(PT)
- MANGA MIRAI shuts down permanently. After this date, you will no longer be able to view comics on MANGA MIRAI.
